Twenty-one years ago, Karen Ross walked into a small CPA firm with no title, no ownership interest, and no roadmap. Karen started where many careers begin… doing whatever needed to be done: copying checks, learning the business from the ground up, and earning trust one opportunity at a time. Today, Karen is proud to serve as a Partner in the same firm, now known as Palermo, Landsman & Ross, PA.- helping shape strategic direction, strengthen its visibility, and ensure its long-term sustainability for the next generation of leaders and clients. That journey taught Karen a lesson she carries into every aspect of her life: influence isn't inherited; it's earned.
For more than two decades, Karen has advised entrepreneurs, family businesses, and nonprofit organizations as an Enrolled Agent with a master's degree in taxation. While her expertise is rooted in accounting, tax, and business advisory, Karen has learned the most significant decisions aren't just financial; they're about trust, culture, and guiding organizations through change without losing sight of their values.
The leadership perspective Karen has developed throughout her career extends beyond advising clients. Her experience on the BOD of Children's Harbor has shown her that the same principles strengthening successful businesses are equally essential to building resilient nonprofit organizations and stronger communities.
Those beliefs shape Karen's commitment to mentorship, philanthropy, and thought leadership.
Through her writing with The Daily Drip, Karen encourages leaders to think beyond today's decisions and focus on developing people, preserving culture, and building organizations that endure. Lasting success is created when technical expertise is paired with courageous leadership, trusted relationships, and a genuine commitment to serving something greater than ourselves.
